回望 · Overview — third-party visual assets

1. Earth material and textures
Source: https://github.com/keijiro/MoonAndEarth
Author: Keijiro Takahashi
Only the Earth folder is included. The Moon textures from this repository are not included.
The source README puts its scripts and shaders into the public domain and identifies its Earth imagery as NASA imagery.
The Earth shader graph was retargeted from Built-in Lit to URP Lit. Material values and Android texture import settings were adjusted for this prototype.
Source README is retained at Assets/ThirdParty/MoonAndEarth/SOURCE-README.md.

2. NASA Earth imagery
Source links: https://visibleearth.nasa.gov/ and https://science.nasa.gov/resource/blue-marble/
NASA imagery provided through the MoonAndEarth sample includes Earth surface, clouds, night lights and topography/bathymetry.
Earth imagery credit: NASA; see the original NASA image entries for the contributing visualization teams.
Usage guidelines: https://www.nasa.gov/nasa-brand-center/images-and-media/
This independent prototype is not endorsed by NASA.

3. NASA Deep Star Maps (2012)
Source: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/3895/
Image: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/vis/a000000/a003800/a003895/starmap_8k.jpg
Credit: NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Scientific Visualization Studio.
Visualization by Ernie Wright and Tom Bridgman. Based on Bright Star, Tycho-2 and UCAC3 star catalogs.
The constellation overlays are not used.

4. Noto Sans SC font
Unmodified font under SIL Open Font License 1.1.
License text: Assets/Overview/Resources/FONT-LICENSE.txt.

5. Moon color map (2025 edition)
Source: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4720/
Image: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/vis/a000000/a004700/a004720/lroc_color_2k.jpg
Credit: NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio; Ernie Wright (USRA), Noah Petro (NASA/GSFC).
Based on the LROC WAC color mosaic, assembled from Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter imagery.
The source file is unmodified. Unity compresses it for the Android build.

6. Solar System Scope textures
Credit: Solar System Scope / INOVE (https://www.solarsystemscope.com/textures/).
Image: https://www.solarsystemscope.com/textures/download/8k_mars.jpg
License: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.
The source file is unmodified. Unity limits it to 4096 pixels and uses ASTC compression on Android.
Solar System Scope states that the maps are based on NASA imagery, with adjusted colors and fictional terrain filling some gaps. They are visual assets, not scientific measurements.
Additional unmodified textures: Mercury, Venus atmosphere, Jupiter, Saturn, Saturn rings, Uranus, Neptune and Sun (2K editions from the same source). Their source URLs and checksums are recorded in AssetSources.json.
This credit is also displayed in the in-game menu. The license is saved as SSS-LICENSE.txt in Resources.

The previous synthesized ambient loop has been removed. Version 0.5 includes five music tracks supplied by the user from the 宇宙之歌背景音乐 folder, and the user-supplied 宇宙白噪音.wav as a separate looping ambience track. The original source audio files are imported unchanged. This is an immersive soundtrack, with no claim that the background is an acoustic recording in vacuum.

7. Astronomical position data
Planetary elements and rates: https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/planets/approx_pos.html (JPL Table 1, valid 1800-2050). The Horizons endpoint was unreachable from this host; the prototype uses the documented approximate Kepler formula instead, not high-precision Horizons results.
Moon positions, hourly distances and J2000 RA/Dec: NASA SVS, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/5587/; https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/vis/a000000/a005500/a005587/mooninfo_2026.json. Credit NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Scientific Visualization Studio.
The offline ephemeris is generated by Tools/generate-ephemeris.py. Numerical data is used to preserve relative body direction, distance and angular size. Earth/Moon barycenter is adjusted using the Moon position and Earth/Moon mass ratio.

8. Lunar relief and lunar observation site
Global imagery and elevation: NASA CGI Moon Kit, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4720/, 2019 LROC WAC 8K color map and LRO LOLA unsigned half-meter height map. Credit NASA SVS; Ernie Wright, Noah Petro, LROC WAC and LOLA teams.
Local terrain: NAC_DTM_APOLLO17_2M and NAC_DTM_APOLLO17_MOSAIC_5M, NASA/LRO/LROC; Arizona State University. An 8 km tile is sampled on a 4 m grid, with source-row interpolation in approximately 4.4% missing-data cells. The observation point is 800 m west and 200 m north of the Apollo 17 landing-site anchor. Recorded orthophoto lighting is retained; procedural close-up regolith grain is illustrative.

9. Solar and black-hole visualization
Sun 8K texture: Solar System Scope / INOVE, CC BY 4.0. Filtered solar coloring, flowing plasma, corona and magnetic loops are illustrative, not a measured solar simulation.
Black-hole exterior reference: NASA Goddard visualizations, https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/13326/ and https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/14585/. Exterior light bending is an approximate shader; the view inside the horizon is explicitly artistic and not an observed interior.

10. NASA spacecraft models
International Space Station and Hubble Space Telescope models/textures: NASA Visualization Technology Applications and Development (VTAD).
Sources: https://science.nasa.gov/resource/international-space-station-3d-model/ and https://science.nasa.gov/resource/hubble-space-telescope-3d-model-2/.
glTF transforms are baked and merged into material batches; embedded image bytes are unchanged. Approximate dimensions are configured to 109 m and 13.2 m. Observation layouts are not live TLE/SGP4 orbit positions or current configuration guarantees.

11. 67P measured nucleus
SPC-ESA MTP019 low-resolution OBJ shape model; ESA/RMOC, ESA/Rosetta/NAVCAM. NASA Planetary Data System / ESA Planetary Science Archive, RO-C-MULTI-5-67P-SHAPE-V2.0.
Source: https://pds-smallbodies.astro.umd.edu/holdings/ro-c-multi-5-67p-shape-v2.0/data/triplate/spc_esa/mtp019/cshp_dv_130_01_lores_obj.obj.
License: CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/igo/. Modified by mirroring handedness, centering, normalizing display radius and calculating smooth geometry normals. The converted model remains under that license; source OBJ and conversion information are provided in the project. Coma, tails and fine surface shading are illustrative, not measured coma physics or a live orbit.

15. Deep-space sky and observed nebulae (v0.7)
Catalog sky: NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Scientific Visualization Studio, Ernie Wright and Tom Bridgman; https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/3895/. Existing NASA-StarMap.jpg source is unchanged. Runtime enhances faint catalog signal while preserving star positions, color and the Milky Way structure. This camera-exposure interpretation is not a claim about unaided human eyesight.
Orion Nebula image heic0601a: NASA, ESA, M. Robberto (Space Telescope Science Institute/ESA) and the Hubble Space Telescope Orion Treasury Project Team. https://esahubble.org/images/heic0601a/
Carina Nebula image heic0707g: N. Smith and NOAO/AURA/NSF. https://esahubble.org/images/heic0707g/
Nebula photos: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/; source use terms https://esahubble.org/copyright/. Source JPEG image bytes unchanged. Runtime applies exposure and edge feathering. Published celestial coordinates, photographic field of view and orientation are retained. Filter-composite colors are observational enhancements, not naked-eye colors. No endorsement by NASA, ESA, STScI, NOAO, AURA or NSF is implied.

Overview 0.11.0 — regional Earth coastal elevation attribution

Region: northern Kauai, Hawaii, USA, including the Na Pali / Kalalau coast.
Coverage: latitude 22.000 to 22.350; longitude -159.850 to -159.250.
Grid: 2161 x 1261. Original sample spacing approximately 28.60 x 30.89 m.
Measured elevation is regional only. The rest of Earth still uses coarse global
geography and illustrative close detail, not a complete surveyed reconstruction.

Attribution and upstream terms:

of the U.S. Geological Survey; ocean bathymetry: NOAA ETOPO1.
NOAA: DOC/NOAA/NESDIS/NCEI — National Centers for Environmental Information,
NESDIS, NOAA, U.S. Department of Commerce.
Tilezen's documentation identifies the above USGS/NOAA upstream datasets as
public domain and specifies provider notices and limitations. The NOAA notice
describes US copyright scope. Preserve these credits. No endorsement is implied.
The aggregated tile does not identify the contributing source at each pixel.
The data is used for visual experience, not navigation.

Modifications: decompress HGT, crop the above rectangle without increasing source
resolution, reverse rows to south-first order, replace invalid values below
-30000 with -1000 m, preserve integer elevations, and bake an approximate signed
shore distance using an eight-neighbour chamfer transform. Height >0.75 m defines
the land mask. Shore distance is integer metres, positive on land and negative
offshore, clamped to the int16 range. It is not a tidal or surveyed coastline.

SHA-256, downloaded N22W160.hgt.gz (6558958 bytes):

The ECO1 binary has a 44-byte header: ASCII signature, little-endian int32 width
and height, float64 south/north/west/east; each sample is an int16 elevation and
int16 signed shore distance. Runtime sampling and rendering do not increase the
survey's original resolution. Data below sea level is retained; underwater
exploration is not currently provided.

Fine material variations, close basalt rocks/vegetation and water/foam shading
are original illustrative game assets. They are not centimetre survey data.
Regional broad surface colour now uses the separate Sentinel observation below. The black monolith is fictional. The separate Earth visual maps
retain their existing Solar System Scope / CC BY 4.0 attribution.

The source file, conversion script, sources.json and inspection preview are kept
in SourceAssets/EarthCoast. See that folder's README.md for reproduction details.

Official data-use notice: https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/licences/ec-sentinel

Source is the actual 10 m red/green/blue observation (B04/B03/B02) delivered as
an 8-bit TCI, not generated imagery or a false-colour composite. The source UTM
Zone 4N crop (EPSG:32604) is bilinearly reprojected to EPSG:4326, exact bounds
west=-159.85, south=22.00, east=-159.25, north=22.35. Output RGB JPEG is
6144 x 4096, north at the top, east to the right, with an embedded sRGB profile.
No rotation, mirroring, generative fill or artistic recolouring was applied.
Original photographed light, terrain shadows, white surf and sparse clouds remain.

Earth 8K visual texture attribution

Author: Solar System Scope / INOVE.
Official source: https://www.solarsystemscope.com/textures/
License: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
License summary: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
Full legal terms: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode

Original files, all 8192 x 4096 pixels (not upscaled by this project):
- 8k_earth_daymap.jpg
- 8k_earth_clouds.jpg
- 8k_earth_specular_map.tif
- 8k_earth_normal_map.tif
Download URLs and SHA-256 hashes are recorded in SourceAssets/Earth8K/sources.json.

Changes by this project:
- Earth-Global-Color.png preserves the day-map RGB, adding inverted matching
  specular-map luminance as land alpha.
- Earth-Clouds-8K.jpg is the unchanged original cloud JPEG.
- Earth-Normal-8K.png is a lossless RGB conversion from the original normal TIFF.
- Unity generates filtered mip levels and Android ASTC 6 x 6 compression.
The imagery uses equirectangular longitude/latitude mapping. Color is sRGB;
cloud coverage and tangent normals are imported as linear data.

These are global visual maps, not survey elevation data or street-level imagery.
The separate coarse NASA CPU geography remains at 2048 x 1024 for navigation
and illustrative terrain outside the v0.11 regional coastal dataset. The first
Kauai coastal exploration area instead uses measured regional elevation; see
Earth-NaPali-Coast-SOURCE.txt. Shader microdetail and decorations remain illustrative.

Original texture rights remain under CC BY 4.0; see the license for conditions.
No endorsement by the texture authors or NASA is implied.

Distributed under CC0-1.0: https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode . Source pixels unchanged; project filenames and Unity texture compression/import settings were added. API used only for offline import. These maps add illustrative surface detail, not new surveyed terrain. Source records: EARTH-GROUND-ASSETS.md and SourceAssets/EarthGround/manifest.json.

Audio is supplied by the developer. For AI-generated music, the developer states that commercial-use permission derives from generation under a paid Suno subscription. This records the developer's source declaration; it does not assert exclusive copyright over all AI-generated elements. Source filenames and hashes are retained in SourceAssets/Music/TheReturnOfLight/manifest.json and Music/Playlist.json.
